Laurie Bartley's 2005 'Larger than Life' British Vogue editorial was the stimulus we were provided with in order to begin to move into the final stage of the module- the outcomes stage. We were tasked with analyising the piece and coming up with a range of words we felt most described the spread.

We focused on the connotations and denotations of the image, alongside the visual inspiration, key themes, and our initial thoughts on the image.
Some of the words we came up with inluded : runaway, fugitive, confidence, lost, waiting, hiding, cinematography, lighting, vintage american, hollywood and delicate.
The styling, and general vibes shoot really reminded me a lot of quite a few films, perhaps most notably Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho and The Birds.
Eventually we managed to condense our words down to the five that would influence our own photographic shoot, coming up with LIGHTING, WAITING, CONFIDENCE, HITCHCOCK, and VINTAGE-AMERICA. Alongside this we were given shoes as our accessory to include in the shoot (which of naturally was the one we all wanted the least). In discussion we decided that we really wanted to convey the suspense of Hitchcock's films in our shoot, and that we were to work the other words around this.

At first I wasn't the biggest fan of Bartley's shoot, I thought it looked a little cliche and the styling seemed a little boring. However, as we began to explore further our intepretation of the story behind the shoot it began to grow on me.
