On Friday I headed marginally further up north to Manchester to see Rejjie Snow at UoM student union.

I saw Rejjie years and years ago slightly by accident and I'm so glad to see how far he's come. You don't get many quality rappers from Dublin which I guess gives him even more cool points.

The venue was much bigger than I anticpated and was sold out which was super nice to see although the demographic was NOT what I expected. Who knew 14 year olds nowadays had good taste?? At their age I was peak cringe worthy indie stage and listening to the Smiths like I was the only one to ever have heard of them. The room was packed with GCSE students in super wavy garms which made me incredibly inferior and like someones weird mum at the back who thinks shes down with the kids. None the less the crowd had a good energy and helped carry the show.

I managed to catch a bit of Slow Thai's set before hand which was pretty decent, supporting Alex is no mean feat but even after the brilliant main performance slow thai's set stuck out to me which is unusual.

The combination of DJ and Alex himself rapping worked perfectly - I was scared the show would be a little boring without all the interludes on the album. Thank god I was proved wrong- I have to say that Rejjie Snow was one of the best shows I've seen in a long long time. Would definetly see again.
