“Inspired by acid trips and it girls” according to Dazed magazine, LRS is the project of Raul Solis, after his time in the denim section of Proenza Schouler. Solis started the brand to expand his portfolio, thanks to his creative talents LRS is a regular on NYFW must watch list. I absolutely love Solis’ designs, the creative freedom of an independent brand is clear to see.

Every single design is so richly inspired, it is a pleasure to see. Collections based off the club scene, mixed with mexican references doesn’t sound like it should work, but Solis’ eye for design manages to merge the two seamlessly. The softness of the 2016 collection is something I really appreciate, I love the concept behind transforming sleepwear into something not just wearable, but into an artform. The subtle maximalism of LRS is, in my opinion, truly beautiful. The intricate designs are beautifully curated, yet not in your face, a world away from Gucci’s brash pattern clashing. LRS feels mature and tasteful, yet it still manages to retain its edge. The naughties inspired photoshoots tap into my Gen Z nostalgia, and I just can’t get enough of the cool toned colours and abstract poses.
