people just do nothing

Does anything beat bleak humour? I don't think it does.
I have no idea why its taken me so long to start watching People Just Do Nothing, I've always loved a mockumentary and this one is right up my street. Britcom is a gift to the world, the idea of a comedy that barely even makes you snigger is a concept I love.

One of my favourite thing about the show is the style of Kurupt FM's cast. Their vintage sportswear is on point, I know theres that whole thing of middle class uni students appropriating 'council estate' clothing (watch out for a post on this at a later date) but you can't deny Grindar's Nike track jacket or beat's Polo caps are actually pretty cool.
I'd love to know who did the styling for the show, and how they sourced the clothes. I find it ironic to think that the show is trying to portray people with almost nothing to their name, in clothes that if sold on depop would raise one hell of a pretty penny. I saw a jacket similar to Steves KAPPA one sell for a solid £150 the other day. You can't help but wonder how much the producers spent on garms.
By refreshing the tropes of beloved sitcoms like the Office, and adding a darker more cynical twist, you can see why the show suceeds. Every character is really, quite comfortingly, dense, and their inability to read scenarios correctly is the source of nearly all the comedy. You can't go wrong with a good helping of dramatic irony. Its mind-bending mundanity and pared-down plotlines are the perfect compliment; to create more involved narrative arcs might undermine what is so special about the show: namely, how studiously stupid it all is.
